Peer review process
Phase 1: Preliminary editorial review
Articles received are reviewed by the editor or editorial team to verify compliance with the guidelines for authors, formatting requirements, and editorial policies. Those that meet these criteria will be evaluated by the Editorial Committee, which will determine their thematic relevance and overall content quality before sending them for external review.
Phase 2: Peer review
Articles are assigned to two national or international academic reviewers who are specialists in the area of the manuscript. The possible decisions of the review process are:
- Publish without modifications
- Publish with modifications
- Do not publish
The established review deadlines are:
30 business days for the first review
20 business days for the second round (once the author has made adjustments)
10 business days for subsequent revisions
Authors have 20 business days to make and return the requested corrections.
Phase 3: Final editorial decision
Based on the peer reviewers' reports, the Editorial Committee makes the final decision on whether to publish the article. In the event of conflicting opinions, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer, and the criteria of the two reviews that agree will be accepted.
Suggested reviewers
In each submission, the corresponding author must suggest four potential reviewers from outside their affiliated institution, who will be considered for inclusion in the journal's database of reviewers. Each suggested reviewer must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a master's degree (minimum)
- Have proven experience in the subject matter of the manuscript
- Have at least one academic publication in the last three years
- Belong to an academic, scientific, or professional institution (public or private)
For each suggested reviewer, the following must be included: full name, academic title, institutional affiliation, and institutional email address.
Editorial rights
The Editorial Committee reserves the right to accept or reject manuscripts received, as well as to make any editorial changes necessary to ensure the consistency and quality of the publication. Such changes will be communicated to the author, who must submit the corrected article within the established deadlines to ensure its inclusion in the corresponding issue.
